andrew & Madison’s

Wedding invitations

Brief:

Design warm and colorful invitations that express the bride and groom’s personality for a wedding reception and an afternoon tea with family.

Approach:

I had a lot of creative liberties because they didn’t know much about what they wanted, so I was able to explore paper textures, tickets, typography and funky fonts. With a main focus on classic typography and warm oranges and greens, I designed using paper overlays and played with opacity. I attached other versions of invites before we landed on the final art deco-esque floral arrangement invite.

The afternoon tea invite was heavily influenced by English tea tins and art deco. For this tradition tea event, we wanted to add a bit of funkiness through colors, while continuing to feel classic and English.

Result:

I drew a floral arrangement with an organic art deco vibe using a warm color palette and took inspiration for tea tin borders to create the tea invites below.

It was important to us that the text was very clear to read since these invites would be sent digitally, not printed out and mailed.

Below is the BAR MENU displayed at their reception that was designed with the similar assets as their invitation.

Below are the other versions of the wedding invites…

afternoon tea invites

The afternoon tea invitations were designed to resemble traditional English Tea tins with an art deco twist, for a very classic afternoon tea set in a hotel in London. I went through many color palettes, but the clients ended up sending out multiple versions because they liked the variety of colors.
