the last train on the piccadilly

illustration and animation

Brief:

Design an animated poster that communicates a moment, experience, or thing that resonates with you. Explore the relationship between print and digital experiences, by creating a printed poster and an animated Augmented Reality extension that can be viewed on Artivive.

Approach:

I studied abroad in London, England in 2021 and it had a big influence on my life. Earl’s Court was the Underground Station I lived near and have many fond memories of taking the last train of the night to go somewhere, or when I was returning home. Tubes aren’t the most colorful thing, but the Underground is what connects all my memories living in London, so it’s very colorful to me.

Result:

Using Procreate, Photoshop and Artivive I created a poster that also plays an animation. If you have the Artivive app, you can hover over the poster and the animation will play. If not, click the button below to watch the train arrive!
